Production of Complex Parts
CNC Swiss style lathes are capable of complex part production through multi-axis machining and a wide variety of tooling options. We are able to manufacture parts with multiple features including cross holes, taps, and complex milling. This also allows for complete production of parts without the need for secondary operations.
Repeatable Tight Tolerances
Swiss type lathes use tools that work close to a guide bushing to support the bar stock during machining. This allows for highly precise cutting and machining with repeatable tolerances within +/- 0.0001 inch.
Low to High Volume Production
CNC Swiss style lathes are capable of high volume production due to their speed and efficiency as compared to standard lathes. CNC Swiss can also perform multiple operations at once for more cost effective machining. At Sherwood Mfg., we excel in the use of our CNC Swiss for low volume production as well, producing complex parts at competitive prices.
Short Lead Times
Our CNC Swiss style lathes are paired with highly reliable bar feeders that allow for constant production with limited down time. Many of our machines are capable of lights out manufacturing. This allows for quicker turn around times and greater satisfaction from our customers.

Low to High Volume Production
We have lathes equipped with automatic bar feeders that are capable of high production/high volume machining. We are also able to provide competitive pricing on low to mid volume production through the various CNC lathes available.
Variety of Capabilities
We have the ability to produce precision parts up to 2 1/4 inches on our CNC lathes. We have access to live tooling which can increase our ability to produce complex, more intricate parts.

Up to 1 5/8 inch Capacity
Our Brown & Sharpe line consists of #00 and #2 machines capable of producing parts up to 1 5/8" diameter.
Quick and Efficient
Screw machines are capable of rapid tool changes, the use of large form tools, and multiple tools in the cut at once. These machines are capable of outstanding speed, allowing for fast cycle times on a variety of parts.
Mid to High Volume Production
The speed and overlapping operations of a screw machine allow us to be more competitive on Mid to High Volume production runs that would not be made as efficiently by other machines. We also have the capacity to run high production parts through our Lipe Bar Feeder, increasing efficiency on certain parts.
